Shamanic Identity: How does your practice define you?

January 2023 will be the month of “Shamanic Identity”. Each event this month will explore the questions of “how does your shamanic practice define you?”
Whether it’s about the new experiences we have, a new view of the world we discover, or hearing a call to spend time with our Guides, Spirits, or Ancestors – practicing Shamanism changes us. We relate to ourselves in new ways and adopt a new identity. This is nothing new. Our ancestors tell many stories about people called to be Shamans who changed their way of living and even their names in the clan.
During January, we’re going to spend time each Circle discovering who we are, why we act, and how our view of the world is changing. We’ll also explore how we express our growing Shamanic identities – in Circle and in life. Join us as we explore what being Shamanic means.
To prepare, you might ask yourself a few questions.
- Why am I in Circle and how did I come here?
- What gifts do I bring with me and what gifts do I take away?
- How am I different because of my relationship to my Guides, Spirits, and Ancestors?
- How do I see the everyday world differently because of my practice?
Please go to our Meetup site to see our complete lineup of events in January.
Looking forward to seeing you in circle soon!
With so much deep love and honor,
the Elder Council team!
