Summer Reflections

Welcome to June! In just a few days, the seasons will once again turn, the days will grow shorter, and night longer as the seasons swing toward Winter. These days feel rather like getting to the apex of a rollercoaster. The car struggles against gravity as it climbs, then WHOOSH!
These days are very good for planning. This year the Summer Solstice falls a couple of days after the new moon. This is a perfect time for reflecting on where you are and where you want to go for the rest of the year.
What do you want to bring in? What do you want your life to feel like at the end of 2023? Is there something new you want to bring in or something you need to change… and how?
What are you ready to let go? What projects or situations are at or near completion so that you can release them and free up energy for something new to come in?
There is not much to do between Spring planting and Autumn harvest but to let the seeds grow and nature take its course other than to prepare. This is a good time also to consider the agricultural practice of “summer fallow,” purposefully keeping some of the land out of production in order to let it rest and build nutrients naturally.
This month, you are invited to consider this vital season of reflection and preparation—of letting go and becoming ready to bring in.
Managing Anxiety With Music
Here is something new. One of the toughest disorders to deal with is anxiety. It gives you a feeling of panic, worry, fear, and even dread. It’s a feeling that has taken its toll on a vast majority of the world’s population. Studies suggest that almost 30% of the adult population that are between the ages of 18-54 are affected by anxiety in the U.S. alone. However, there appears to be a better way to deal with anxiety, a specific song, in fact.
Neuroscientists in the U.K. say they have found the perfect song for those who suffer from anxiety. According to Dr. David Lewis-Hodgson of Minilab International, the study his team conducted showed that this song managed to increase the rate of relaxation in their subjects better than any other music they have tested to date.
The name of the song is Weightless and was created by Marconi Union. Give it a listen for your better health… but NOT while driving!
